If I wanted to go philosophical, I would say it is a good lesson that you do not have to kill everything you see, just what you need.
However, this is an adventure game in an RPG and FPS era, so I doubt it fits into that mould.

That is incorrect. The Coles' QFG games had your skills increase as you used them, combat being one of the best exercise of all skills. RPG's as old as the 80s had experience points gained from fighting. I'm not sure how that has anything to do with the current "FPS era". The "mould" has been the same for decades.

I like your hexen mod, it looks fun. Did you know the musician for QG4 redid the entire soundtrack with live instruments? Might be cool to throw that in there too.

So it's been almost a year since a post was made on this board and 7 months since a backer email update. Any news?

Off-Topic Forum / Hero-U did a second kickstarter

I may be late to the party this time but I just found out today they did a second kickstarter and they seem to have gotten stuck at 88% with 6 days to go. If you feel like letting them make their little game, the new page is

Soundtrack is great. Very atmospheric and not terribly predictable either! Which is refreshing.

I've noticed the quality of the music has improved too since previous games. There's substantial improvement in all areas with each release. Looking forward to hearing the rest!

Just pledged! Thanks for the reply, Chris. I will keep experimenting with the spells, I like that you guys have included a lot of things to discover as you play. One of the things I liked the most about the QFG2 remake was the interesting new twists in the combat system and after playing with it a while you stumble across new strategies. Great stuff, looking forward to the release!

Mage's Initiation Forum / Bug: Crashed during combat

Dev team,

I was playing your demo and the game crashed after I died a gazillion times during combat. I attached a screenshot of the error. Something about looping sprites. Hope that helps.

As for the demo, I like this game a lot so far! Very immserive and great artwork. Music/sound is very well done as well. I will definitely back this game. But in my honest opinion that was a very tough fight for an introduction to your combat system. I also feel a little silly having to run around everywhere in circles all the time shooting fireballs. Seems a little awkward. Just one guy's opinion though. Overall great game so far!
