Britney is Embarking on a Real-Life Adventure
« on: November 14, 2008, 03:06:46 AM »

Hey guys,

I just wanted to let you know, the time has come. This weekend, I'm embarking on an adventure, riding my pedal bicycle from Phoenix, Arizona to Panama City, Panama. It's about 3,500 miles through 8 countries, and I'll be carrying everything on my bicycle. It'll be my home for the next four months.

My friend and I are attempting to raise money for a charity I support, which is the 100 Club. They provide financial assistance to the families of police and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line-of-duty. I used to work for the police department, and spent the past year in private security as an armed guard, and it's a way for me to support the people I care about. If anyone is interested in donating, or knows of anyone who would like to donate, please do such at:

All donations are tax deductible and 100% goes to the charity. My friend and I are paying for the entire adventure ourselves. We're attempting to raise $50,000 for the cause.

We have an online journal, which we've already started posting in, and will be updating it as frequently as possible with stories and pictures from our journey. You can follow along vicariously at:

You can also check our official website to find out more about the adventure itself:

Well, I won't be around much for the next four months as I make my way through the SW of the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, but I am looking forward to speaking with you all more when I get back. In the meantime, I wish you all the best!! Please do feel free to spread the word.

Yours truly,

Britney

Wow, that is very cool of you to do.  I'm sure it will be both extremely fun and extremely challenging for you.  Enjoy the ride, and I'll certainly be checking in for updates, I've always had a fondness for bike riding but never had many excuses to do much of it.

Crazy fool.

Good cause, though.

Ride safely, or at least look after your drawing hand. (Unless you want to send that to us... we could use it!)  :D
