Missing Poster

Is saving that guy on the missing poster at the bread sellers a real quest?  Or can only certain classes do it?  Or is it not a quest at all?

Yeah, it's a necessary part of the plot, so you need to solve that puzzle in order to progress with the game.

Interesting.  I was able to put the poster back together and beat the game without saving him. 

Any hints about how to go about finding him?  Besides roaming the wastelands aimlessly?

I always got the impression that he was not meant to be found. I had been starting to worry. Glad that's resolved.
